How does face recognition work?

Welcome to the Face Recognition Simulator. The face on the left in Box 1 is the model face. Box 2 on the right will display three different faces. One face is currently displayed in Box 2. Your job is to make a set of six specific measurements and do a little math to find out which of the faces on the right is a match of the model face. To begin, click on the Measure button below the model face in Box 1. For help using the simulator, please click on this link. Hint: Use the ruler to measure the length of lines to help classify the face. For more help, click here.

The closer a correlation value is to "1" the more closely related the data. Based on your measurements and analysis, which face, 1, 2 or 3, most closely resembles the model face?
